Data General Unveils Java-based Document Manager

A Java-based document management has been introduced by Data General (Westboro, MA). The Web-Track document manager is designed for use with Data General's AV Image production imaging solution, providing Web access to documents using a standard browser. DG also unveiled Version 3.0 of its ObServer distributed object server, containing new features for AV Image, AV cold, Express-Track and Staffware clients. Pricing for Web-Track is $1,995 per 25 concurrent users; client prices for DG's AV Image, AV cold and Staffware are $995, $495 and $695 respectively. The list price for ObServer is $15,000.
