Counting on portals

PeopleSoft reports a number of significant improvements to its CFO Portal solution designed to deliver greater transparency and improve visibility into financial performance. PeopleSoft also announced its Government Portal, a new offering for government organizations designed to measure and help manage operational performance.

The company says CFO Portal delivers real-time business intelligence to managers through a personalized browser interface. Enhancements reportedly include 30 additional key performance indicators and financial views including Projected Capital Activity to Plan, Operating Budget Variance, Receivables Aging Summary and Bad Debt Write-off by Customer. As a result, users can view financial data across strategic, operational and risk management dimensions, claims PeopleSoft.

The government solution is said to deliver more than 30 preconfigured, standard metrics used by government institutions to track operational performance. PeopleSoft claims that by giving employees access to this information, accountability is increased at all levels of the organization. For example, it cites that key performance indicators such as Reimbursables Collected to Target can alert government organizations to the need to better manage their reimbursable funding by collecting and distributing funding appropriately.
