Computer Associates launches new document management practice

A new business unit from Computer Associates will offer service and support for enterprise-wide document management installations.

Part of CA's Global Professional Services division, the new EDMS practice will help implement and support document workflow systems from FileNet, Hyland Software, Datacap, INVU PLC, Optus Software and Simplify Development.

GPS executive VP Chris Wagner said the service will let customers outsource their document management services to CA, which can monitor and maintain the systems more economically than their in-house staff.

"It simply doesn't make good business sense for our clients to devote a disproportionate amount of their resources" to tricky, specialized document management, added David Craft, GPS practice director for document management
