Collaborative content management

iManage has introduced support for Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) and spreadsheet linking in iManage WorkSite for the financial services industry. The company says the offering is the only document management and collaboration solution to include this functionality. WorkSite is an Internet-based enterprise application suite that enables organizations to manage and collaborate on business content and processes with employees, customers and partners around the world.

iManage reports that OLE and spreadsheet linking play a key role in the preparation of financial models and presentations by enabling users to embed data from dynamic source files directly into destination files without the potential for costly errors through miskeyed or out-of-date data. iManage claims its OLE support reduces the risk associated with the complexity of incorporating content from multiple source files while enhancing the ability of working groups to collaborate on client presentations and analytic processes such as valuations, pro forma modeling, financial planning, comparable analysis and reporting.
