Blogging goes big time

Traction Software introduces TeamPage and Communicator 3.5 enterprise Weblog software. Improvements include:

Built-in WebDAV support--V 3.5 provides seamless support for creating, editing and versioning files attached to Traction articles or shared in per-project and server level Web folders. Microsoft Windows users can use Explorer to drag and drop or edit files shown directly in Windows Web Folders. That feature also provides single-click editing of files in Microsoft Office applications and allows version history to be automatically maintained for any file attachment or shared file.

In addition to Windows Web Folders, Traction's WebDAV support includes a Web file and folder interface that requires no WebDAV client and works with Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, Internet Explorer or any modern browser and operating system.

Traction project Web pages automatically list names and links to shared files that have been recently updated or added so that users can instantly see changes to their workspaces and react to new information quickly.

New Atom support. The software generates Atom as well as RSS news feeds, allowing blog readers to subscribe using either syndication format. Traction allows readers to subscribe to topic or search expression-based news feeds, with password-protected encrypted access to protect business-critical projects.

Improved customized interface options. Administrators and users have greater flexibility and control over the look, feel and function of the user interface. They can choose from a number of skins and control layout options such as how project lists, label lists and sections appear on a page. Users can create subsections in the sidebar navigation, making it easier to find and view specific information pertaining to a particular part of a project or workspace. Users can also choose to show comments in RSS and Atom news feeds as standalone notes or in context by changing a personal preference.
