Blending cloud content management and workflow

Business application platforms and solutions developer K2 has partnered with Box. The deal calls for integrating K2’s Appit and blackpearl platforms with the Box cloud content management platform. K2 Appit allows users to build without much coding and then run forms and workflow applications in the cloud that integrate with existing on-premise or cloud data.

The integration will allow users to start a business workflow directly from the Box interface. K2's SmartObjects framework also allows users to manage—from a single application—contracts and documents stored in Box, collaborate over creative collateral, manage support tickets, send documents for approvals and electronic signatures, and store final documents in a secure and compliant customer-accessible location. K2 says with these new cloud content management capabilities, employees can gain insight and control over shared content, while chief information officers and IT directors have the security and governance needed to maintain compliance with audit and regulatory policies.
