Benchmark Displays DataTrade's COLD Power

With the results of a benchmark test in hand, DataTrade (Springfield, MO) is making a new case for using COLD for large-volume report processing. DataTrade's new Spoolview COLD system was clocked at processing report files at the rate of 2 million pages per hour. To bring that down to end-user level, that's a 10,000 page report going through page identification, index extraction and sort, database update and report file compression in thirteen seconds. The tests were run on a PC/233Mhz PC with 64MB of memory running Windows NT 4.0. The new version (5.0) of DataTrade's Spoolview system will be unveiled in late Q1 '98.
