Automated taxonomy creation

Targeting the Global 2000, Interwoven has developed MetaTagger 3.0, an enterprise metadata framework that allows companies to effectively reuse and repurpose content across any organizational initiative, include portals, e-commerce and search. MetaTagger provides automated tagging and seamless integration with Interwoven’s content aggregation, management and distribution products that include TeamSite, TeamSite Templating and OpenDeploy software.

Interwoven says MetaTagger 3.0 examines collections of legacy content and automatically discovers a custom taxonomy. To match enterprise needs, the software provides a visual environment to search, edit and tune these taxonomies, allowing customers to edit existing vocabularies or build new ones. The company adds that MetaTagger's ability to automatically tag content based on recognition, classification and pre-defined business rules, enables businesses to quickly capture and classify complete metadata for allcontent.

Interwoven emphasizes that as an essential part of its content infrastructure, MetaTagger ensures that customers can apply metadata consistently across the enterprise and immediately begin to yield the benefits of improved content reuse.

Interwoven also announces new technology alliances with leading search vendors AltaVista, Inktomi and iPhrase.
