Arizona Electric Utility Processes Unisys System

The Salt River Project (SRP), an Arizona-based electric utility, has selected Unisys (Blue Bell, PA) to provide an image-based remittance processing system. The system, designed for service providers and utilities, will automate the company's Remittance Processing Division in Treasury. SRP serves over one million electric customers and water shareholders through two operating entities: the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, a political subdivision of the state of Arizona, and the Salt River Valley Water User's Association, a private corporation. "We were searching for a remittance processing solution designed for high-volume processing that could seamlessly take on our predicted growth, as well as find a system enhanced for our NT platform," said Carolyn Ross, director of Remittance for the Salt River Project. SRP expects a 3% growth rate over the next ten years. "Unisys met all our criteria," she said.
