Altris and Data General ink OEM agreement

Data General (Westboro, MA, http://www.dg.com

) has signed a 6,500-seat OEM agreement with Altris Software (San Diego, http://www.altris.com) for its Altris EB enterprise-wide multi-media document management system. "We expect to sell more than 25,000 licenses of Altris EB over the next five years," said Michael Fowler, director of Data General's Imaging and Document Management business unit. The agreement adds Altris EB, introduced in April and designed for high-volume production imaging, to an existing OEM agreement involving Altris' AV Image product line. "The size of this deal illustrates the confidence that Data General has in Altris EB," commented Altris chairman and CEO Jay Tanna. By signing the agreement, he said, Data General has put its faith in Altris EB "as the basis for their enterprise document management offering."
