Adobe's Q2 net is up

Adobe Systems (San Jose, CA, http://www.adobe.com

) announces Q2 '97 revenue of $228.3 million, a 12% increase over Q2 '96's result of $204.3 million. Net income for Q2 '97 increased to $40.1 million, up from $22.0 million in Q2 '96. Licensing revenue increased to $53.3 million in Q2 '97 compared with Q2 '96's $49.3 million. Revenue from application products in Q2 '97 increased to $175.0 million, up from Q2 '96's $155.1 million. 51% of Adobe's revenues for application products (not including platform independent and UNIX products) stem from the sale of Windows platforms. This is the first year that revenues for Windows platforms have surpassed Macintosh.
