Secure, unified search

Main Line Health in southeastern Pennsylvania has chosen a new enterprise search solution to improve the functionality of both its intranet and Web site.

The healthcare provider has selected Coveo Enterprise Search (CES) because it can be readily customized and offers document level security and product support, Coveo reports in a recent press release. The solution is said to provide secure, unified search across documents and multimedia files in file systems, databases, enterprise applications, e-mail servers, intranets and Web sites.

"We had been using another vendor for some time. However, a redesign of our intranet revealed that the vendor no longer met our need to search across various Microsoft office documents and various repositories including databases and Microsoft SharePoint," says Seth Kuliszewski, manager of Web and database services.

Security is vital to Main Line Health because its user community relies on the intranet and the Internet to help manage department-specfic, confidential documentation. The solution can display information based on user permissions, helping Main Line Health meet compliance requirements. The new search system will help users find the most relevant information without compromising privacy—a reassuring factor considering Main Line has nearly 8,000 employees and 5,000 visits daily to its external Web site.
