Real-time CI promotes portal usage
The true test of new technology relates to usage. If no one uses it, it’s not much good, is it?
But integration of Moreover Technologies late-breaking online news and information solution is said to have increased employee usage of PeopleSoft’s portal, which replaced its intranet last year. That’s because the solution helps staff better identify information they need to react quickly to competitive announcements, market trends and opportunities, according to Moreover.
“The integration of Moreover’s technology into our Enterprise Portal--Planet PeopleSoft--significantly reduces the amount of time our employees spend searching for specific information on news and industry sites,” says Rich Manalang, program manager for Employee Productivity Systems at PeopleSoft. “Planet PeopleSoft now gives our employees easy, any-time, anywhere access to the most critical information available to positively impact their jobs.”
The agreement between the two firms enables Moreover to deliver targeted and up-to-the-minute information to the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal. More than 90% of PeopleSoft’s 8,600 employees are said to use Planet PeopleSoft regularly to find online information to target revenue opportunities.
Employees can customize their Moreover application to receive only information specific to their jobs, thereby eliminating the need to spend hours searching through irrelevant information. The software’s continually delivered headline links help them track industry developments and competitive news and information about any company with which PeopleSoft does business. PeopleSoft reports that employees in its sales and marketing, product strategy and development, and analyst relations departments have especially benefited from the late-breaking information supplied by Moreover.
Moreover provides the PeopleSoft Portal with continuous “snapshots” of breaking industry news from more than 3,000 sources. Headlines update automatically every 15 minutes and link to full-text articles on the original publisher’s site. Portal users can integrate Web feeds through a variety of open formats, including HTML, JavaScript and several variations of XML.
