On track with search

Interfleet Technology is implementing a new enterprise search system to give its employees more powerful search capabilities.

The international rail consultancy has hundreds of employees working with a million documents distributed in various formats and systems, including assignment files, drawings and its corporate intranet. To enable workers to have rapid access to all that information, Interfleet is deploying ISYS:web 7 and ISYS:desktop 7 from ISYS Search Software. With the solution, consultants will be able to quickly identify relevant content, share it with colleagues and spend more time working with the data than searching for it, according to a recent press release from ISYS.

"After reviewing various enterprise search applications, we selected the ISYS 7 suite for its ease of use, classification capabilities and ability to prove its value during our trial phase," says Claudine Taylor, information strategy manager for Interfleet Technology. "Additionally, we believe it will help increase sharing of past and current information, thus ensuring our employees have greater awareness and knowledge of current projects."

Interfleet will also roll out a categorization system, using the suite's taxonomy tools, which will give employees the ability to both navigate and search its knowledgebase, ISYS reports.
