Inspiring more rental business

Renting a car online should be easier for Avis Europe customers following deployment of new technology at its Web site.

Avis Europe has selected a solution from InQuira, including its Intelligent Search, Self-Service and Information Manager products. The implementation is part of Avis' initiative, called Inspired Change, which is intended to improve the customer experience.

"Inspired by our customers, we feel that the launch of the new Web site will set a new standard for online car rentals," says John Phipps, director of Web development for Avis Europe. "With the help of the solution and its intelligent search and self-service capabilities, we aim to give our customers an easy and enjoyable rental experience."

Visitors to the site can find rental locations from searching on cities, airport codes and even landmarks, InQuira reports in a recent press release. Another feature, the Self-Service module, gives customers options to purchase or rent additional items, such as guide books, car seats and ski racks.
