Thales Navigation is going live on three Web sites and its corporate intranet with a new search solution. A leader in satellite positioning and navigation systems, Thales Navigation is the company behind the Magellan brand of GPS products, as well as the Thales Navigation line of OEM, survey and GIS professional-grade solutions.

The company has chosen ISYS:web.asp from ISYS Search Software for search functionality on its corporate intranet, as well as on magellangps.com, products.thalesnavigation.com and thalesnavigation.com.

Employees and visitors to the sites will be able to use the solution to search and retrieve content contained in a variety of formats including PDF, Microsoft Word and SQL Server.

David Lea, Web technical application engineer at Thales, says that after reviewing technology from various search vendors, the company chose ISYS' offering because it is easy to deploy and maintain, and is flexible enough to meet Thales' functionality requirements.

"ISYS' capabilities with PDF files and SQL Server databases also played a key role in our decision," says Lea. He added that the company also offers a "practical pricing model."
