Percussion and Watchfire team

Percussion Software and Watchfire have announced an agreement calling for integration of Watchfire's Compliance Connector with Percussion's Rhythmyx 5 Enterprise Content Management system. The partnership enables Percussion to incorporate Web site content quality, privacy and accessibility testing into the Rhythmyx workflow. The companies also report they will conduct joint marketing and sales activities.

Watchfire says Compliance Connector is designed to enhance content management systems by testing Web pages managed by the system for quality, privacy and accessibility issues. Watchfire Compliance Connector for Rhythmyx 5 incorporates automated compliance standards into the Rhythmyx workflow to help identify and correct more problems upfront, the companies. Pages that fail any of the predefined compliance tests are automatically passed back to the content creator during the workflow approval process, reducing the likelihood that problem content will be posted to the Web and also lowering the cost of repairing problems that have gone live, the companies claim.

The Compliance Connector uses the scanning engine of Watchfire WebXM to evaluate pages of Web content and produce compliance reports. The software identifies content defects on a page-by-page basis, uncovering brand and risk standards violations such as offensive material, inappropriate logo use, spelling errors, broken links or content that fails to comply with federal accessibility laws, including the U.S. Government's Section 508 as well as global privacy legislation.
