XML for technical documents

Based on XyEnterprise Content@ editorial content management and workflow solutions, the Content@ Product Documentation software offers predefined workflows, roles and output tools for editorial workgroups.

The new package includes standard Content@ features such as a fully documented API for UNIX and NT, workflow and metadata management, says XyEnterprise. It also provides a direct application link to XyEnterprise's XML Professional Publisher (XPP) software for automated publishing and personalized, print-on-demand output. The Content@ system supports editing tools such as Microsoft Word, Arbortext Epic, Adobe FrameMaker+SGML and Softquad XMetaL.

The company adds the software package provides product documentation best-practice features, including:

  • pre-assigned roles for key team members and other internal or external contributors;

  • established workflow triggers that streamline the editorial, review and automated multichannel delivery processes;

  • support for structured XML data models and metadata; and

  • support for localization of content and documents for multilanguage delivery.

Pricing starts at $50,000 for the server software and 10 concurrent client licenses.
