Veritas Archiving and E-Discovery Solutions Now Available as a FedRAMP-Authorized Cloud Service

Veritas Technologies, a provider of information management software has announced that Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Discovery Accelerator are now available as a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)-authorized, SaaS-level, moderate impact cloud service.

The new solution is enabled by a partnership with bluesource, a Veritas platinum-certified partner, and its partnership with ProjectHosts. With these solutions, the companies say, government agencies can now minimize the cost of overhead for hardware and software ownership, and move to a fully managed government cloud archiving and e-discovery service to successfully meet Capstone and immutability requirements.

According to Tom Kennedy, Veritas vice president and general manager, Public Sector, the availabilityof  Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Discovery Accelerator in a SaaS form factor allows government agencies to develop a holistic information governance strategy, while complying with the U.S. government’s FedRAMP security mandate for cloud-based services. The Veritas software is hosted and delivered from a SaaS-level FedRAMP moderate cloud environment built on Microsoft Azure.

The combination of Enterprise Vault and Discovery Accelerator provides a solution for managing their information, from creation to discovery through disposition. The solution supports customizable policies and automated information retention to help agencies better control what to save and what to delete, which is increasingly critical as they look to meet looming deadlines imposed by mandates such as the Managing Government Records Directive.
