TransPerfect and 121nexus Update EnCompass Content System for Medical Device Makers
TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions and 121nexus have made updates to the EnCompass system for content automation and distribution relating to medical devices. The updated system is designed to cut labeling cost, risk, and turnaround, identify and eliminate mislabeled products, and provide device users with easy access to digital information and direct product ordering.
TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions is the specialized medical device division of TransPerfect and provides language services and content management technology to the medical device industry. Its EnCompass content solutions for medical device makers combines translation risk management with validated content management and productivity technology for a solution set that enables manufacturers to improve labeling and content.
121nexus provides a solution that delivers digital content with end-to-end mobile technology by leveraging manufacturers’ existing UDI (unique device identifier) labeling technology to help medical device manufacturers share required information, issue recall updates, and push marketing information in any language with a scan of the existing packaging bar code.
In September of 2016, the FDA’s UDI regulation deadline went into effect for the majority of U.S. medical device manufacturers. To address the regulation, organizations have invested billions of dollars into UDI implementation and compliance. Now, the companies say, the EnCompass system leverages UDI, combined with patented processes and mobile scanning technology, to support cost savings and increased revenue for device makers.
With the addition of the 121nexus platform and its mobile scanning technology, said Marc Miller, president of TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions, the EnCompass system now provides the tools and strategy to deliver digital content and drive revenue.
By combining the two companies’ patented digital distribution technology with the content management and translation automation capabilities of the EnCompass system, greater value can be delivered to joint customers, added Charlie Kim, president of 121nexus.
