Traction and QL2 partner

QL2 Software and Traction Software  have formed a joint development partnership that is designed to facilitate decision making by bringing QL2's data extraction platform, WebQL, to users of Traction's TeamPage enterprise blogging offering.

WebQL can monitor newswires, trade journals, Web sites and blogs, says QL2, as well as clinical trial information, adverse events, legislation, pricing and other databases. It watches Web sites for page changes and reports the differences. Although it may execute hundreds or thousands of queries in a given day, it only provides results that match specified requirements. WebQL may run standing queries on a regular basis or perform one-off, form-driven queries launched directly from the Traction interface.

The companies explain that when WebQL finds a relevant content match or page change, it extracts and publishes the relevant information to Traction TeamPage with appropriate category tags from any of the project blogs. Traction's interface delivers the content securely in a number of formats, including a newspaper-style front page, project news pages, an automated newsletter and RSS feeds. TeamPage includes social tagging to allow users to further categorize content. They may also raise certain content to "alert" status, weave commentary between paragraphs and write analysis or recommendations that link to the collected source.
