TiS, dakota sign distribution agreement

Top Image Systems (TiS), the Tel-Aviv-based forms processing outfit, has signed a distribution agreement with dakota imaging to bring its AFPSPro automated forms processing product into the North American market. dakota will combine and distribute TiS' AFPSPro NT-based forms processing solution with its own Transform forms processing product. As part of the agreement, dakota will pay TiS $5.65 million in quarterly installments over the next 24 months.

The agreement appears to be a win-win situation. TiS, which has a strong international customer base, now enters the North American market for the first time through dakota's distribution channel. dakota imaging adds TiS' NT-based forms processing solution which won awards at this year's AIIM show to its own top-notch UNIX forms processing product line.

The deal marks "a significant step towards expanding global leadership," according to TiS president and CEO Izhak Nakar. "Combining our complimentary systems in one offer constitutes an incomparable leading edge: the only full-suite of automated forms processing solutions available on the market today which supports both UNIX and NT."

"The growing demand for Windows NT is producing an overwhelming demand for us to offer solutions on both NT and UNIX," said Sandeep Goel, president and CEO of dakota imaging. "Establishing a relationship with TiS is the key to further our market leadership." After reviewing several other NT forms processing offerings, dakota decided to go with AFPSPro. "No other product on the market today can compete with the comprehensive advanced solutions that are now offered by the TiS-Dakota team, a combination which will inevitably create market leadership for us all," said Goel.
