Scan-Optics Lures Healthcare Insurance Companies
Scan-Optics (Manchester, CT) has received orders for its ImageEMC++ healthcare claims processing system from two health insurance companies. The ImageEMC++ system, introduced at NMHCC in November, processes paper forms and documents received by health insurance and claim payment companies. One of the firms is a Medicare processor planning on processing an estimated 35,000 claims a day. The other, a $10 billion private insurer, expects to process 30,000 to 40,000 HCFA and dental claims a day with the new system. The two orders total approximately $1.6 million.
