Migrating on-premise to the cloud

Globanet has released Migrate Version 7.0, which has been specifically designed to efficiently and reliably migrate data between on-premise and cloud-based archive environments. The company says Version 7.0 allows customers to effectively and securely transfer data to new solutions in the cloud or on-premise. The product is vendor-agnostic, thus permitting a hybrid approach when desired.

Globanet says because the solution is engineered with cryptographic hashing, Version 7.0 ensures that the integrity of messages stays intact, with a complete chain of custody, validation and performance reporting. It is able to support selective migrations with target scoping, focusing on specific data in the source archive that the user wishes to migrate. Globanet Migrate is able to handle mass or partial exports of PST, EML, MSG or other file formats, says the company.

Globanet highlights the following new capabilities in Migrate 7.0:

  • increased speed—up to 10 times faster than previous versions,
  • enhanced auto-tuning—optimizes the use of available hardware to produce a smoother and more efficient migration,
  • advanced PST technology—increases data integrity by removing the prerequisite to install Microsoft Outlook,
  • improved architecture—lowers overall memory requirements on servers with a new threading model that improves throughput and scalability, and
  • more intuitive GUI—fluid and user-friendly with upgraded logging and performance metrics.
