McKinley to head up new Innodata group

Tony McKinley, one of the industry's top consultants for imaging and data capture and author of From Paper to Web, has been engaged by Innodata as director of its new Professional Services group. The new group offers technical and customer support for large-scale data capture, imaging, and digital library initiatives.

McKinley's appointment gives immediate credibility to the fledgling group as well as a wealth of industry experience in imaging, data capture, digital libraries and electronic publishing. The new group will also benefit from Innodata's knowledge of digital library systems and its track record in working with some of the biggest enterprise-wide conversion projects.

"Given the increasing pace of change toward a world of full information digitization, this represents an important time for Innodata," said McKinley. With the increased emphasis on the Internet and global connectivity, the new group "will provide Innodata customers access to the smart resources and best practices necessary to successfully move major collections 'from paper to Web.'"

The appointment "enhances our move from being one of the primary general contractors for the global digital library to being one of its chief architects," according to Jack Abuhoff, Innodata president and CEO. "With our new Professional Services Group and Tony at the helm, we will be able to provide truly comprehensive solutions to our customers."
