Making space for KM

Developed as part of an overall professional services automation system, Workspaces from OpenAir enables collaboration through threaded online discussions and document sharing and provides users with access to work data from prior engagements to permit best-practice standardization throughout the organization.

OpenAir explains Workspaces is part of a complete system for knowledge professionals to develop new business, plan resources, manage projects, track time and expenses, bill clients and perform operational and financial reporting. Workspaces is said to integrate with other data in the system, providing permission-based ability to search proposals, estimates and project templates, threaded discussions and other documents.

The new offering is both a standalone knowledge management solution as well as a component of the OpenAir Complete professional services automation solution. OpenAir Complete lists for $75 per user per month; Workspaces can be purchased alone for $20 per user per month plus storage fees.

Among the features are:

  • embedded collaboration;

  • threaded discussions, message boards and alerts;

  • a document file structure that allows users to set up a multitier and nested file system; and

  • document version control.
