Influence unveils Web-based reporting tool

Influence Software (Sunnyvale, CA) has unveiled a Web-based reporting tool for distributing and accessing information through the Internet or intranets. The Aperio Knowledge Gallery is a central repository of reports and information, from which users can publish and subscribe to information anytime, anywhere through the Internet. Users can distribute or access information in familiar formats like Microsoft Word and Excel documents, as well as database reports, web URLs and audio clips. Included are security controls for either users or groups, search and scheduling engines, and bookmarking capabilities. In a nutshell, it's "a comprehensive repository for critical business knowledge available through a single web-based interface," according to Influence president and co-founder Marv Mouchawar. "Knowledge Gallery alleviates the centralized administration associated with running corporate reports and distributes this ability to every decision-maker on an intranet," adds Ron Copeland, senior analyst with The Robert Frances Group. Pricing for the Knowledge Gallery, which supports AIX, IRIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows NT, starts at $9,990 for the server and $99 per user seat.
