IBM's Storage Systems division (San Jose, http://www.ibm.com
) is opening what it calls the world's largest hard disk platter manufacturing factory. In a huge 316,000 square foot facility in San Jose, IBM is integrating its mobile and server class hard disk drives.
In addition to using the drives in its own systems, IBM sells them to Apple (Cupertino, CA, http://www.apple.com) and Dell (Round Rock, TX).
