Free RM for SharePoint

80-20 Software has announced the release of Retention Server, a free add-on for Microsoft's Windows SharePoint Services designed to manage the retention lifecycle of electronic documents and e-mails.

Companies would normally expect to pay license fees for a comparable records management capability integrated with SharePoint, but 80-20 has elected to provide this software to the SharePoint community at no charge. 80-20 believes Retention Server's electronic document retention capability is a vital foundation to the implementation of comprehensive corporate governance and compliance programs for enterprises using Windows SharePoint Services.

Customers can download the product at no charge here. The product can be deployed using both the free Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server.
