Ford Selects Open Text's LiveLink Intranet

Ford Motor Company, the world's second largest automobile manufacturer, has chosen Open Text (Waterloo, Ontario) to provide the basis for its corporate business information repository. After having been used to manage Ford's corporate and ISO 9000 documents, the deployment will now be implemented on an enterprise-wide scale to 135,000 users across the company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "This is one of the largest, if not the largest, document and/or knowledge management implementations of which we are aware," said Meta Group (Stamford, CT) guru David Yockelson. "Ford's investment clearly reflects a belief that the collection and management of intellectual capital, enabling a collaborative and process oriented information exchange, is a precursor to innovation and (ultimately) success going forward."
