BA Insight launches InfoSites for SharePoint

BA Insight has released a new SharePoint application that enables users to create and share knowledge centers and intranet pages around topics of interest. The company says User-Generated InfoSites improves collaboration and user productivity as new information from internal and external content sources automatically appears on the InfoSite while updates are delivered via e-mail digests. The InfoSite Directory facilitates exploration and navigation across all published InfoSites, which can be personal, shared with other team members or published more broadly across the organization.

BA Insight reports User-Generated InfoSites can be accessed from any device and can help reduce information overload by enabling subscribers to only see their selected topics, eliminating the need to search for content across multiple feeds or systems. These sites are said to be simple to implement and do not require any extensive IT involvement.

The company highlights the new offering’s capabilities:

• create InfoSites from search results, drag and drop and other methods;
• manage subscriptions and notifications from internal and external sources, including public feeds;
• share and collaborate with other users;
• personalize the organization and presentation of information; and
• aggregate multiple InfoSites into one interface.
