AIIM market report is good news

AIIM's (Silver Spring, MD, http://www.aiim.org/tradeshow

) pre-show release of its annual electronic imaging market report, prepared by Giga Information Group (Norwell, MA), is good news for the industry. As first reported in IW's January issue, 1996 showed steady if not stellar overall growth for the market with sales up from $2.6 million to $3 million.

Most notably, the survey of 988 corporate users and potential buyers of imaging systems revealed a marked shift towards the use of Windows NT for imaging systems, raising the previous year's response of 9% to a projected 31% for 1997. Windows NT server installations are also expected to jump from the current 18% to 33% in 1997. The user survey included 246 randomly-selected companies from mailing lists supplied by Dun and Bradstreet. A vendor survey included 234 vendors that are active in the market.
