Working together improves health

A large healthcare organization in New Mexico has deployed enterprise content management software to improve organizational effectiveness and reduce costs. The new application at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center's will provide a collaborative environment for users to create, store and retrieve documents. The Health Services Center consists of the UNM Hospital and several other major clinical facilities, as well as academic and research facilities that include the School of Medicine.

The Center has selected the work2gether solution from KMtechnologies to provide its more than 8,000 healthcare professionals with timely access to procedures, policies, guidelines and standards. The system will manage document development, modification and approval for the organization.

"Our goal is to educate and train healthcare professionals and to provide our patients with the finest and most advanced medical care," says Ella Sitkin, executive director of IT for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. "Work2gether will help us achieve our goal by providing us with easy storage and retrieval of documents, version control, search capabilities, as well as the ability to route documents for an approval and collaboration cycle."

Work2gether is a Web-based content management and collaboration system for managing documents, files and records. Based on XML technology, the software offers management, employees, clients, partners and suppliers with a common platform for communicating, collaborating, publishing, sharing, storing and accessing information, according to KMtechnologies.
