Web security for the visually impaired

Vasco Data Security has unveiled Digipass 300 Comfort Voice to make secure Internet banking possible for the blind and visually impaired.

Digipass 300 Comfort Voice is a further development of Vasco's Digipass 300 Comfort, a product with extra-large buttons and LCD display. Digipass 300 Comfort Voice adds speech to the company's authentication range of products.

The company explains calculated codes will be read to the user through a built-in speaker or via a headset. The number "5" button of Comfort Voice will have orientation marks, allowing the user to select the right functionality and to type his/her PIN code into the unit. Every key press by the user will be followed by an acoustic feedback.

Languages supported by Digipass Comfort 300 Voice are customizable, allowing banks to offer their users a Digipass that speaks their native tongue.
