Star and Excalibur to co-promote KM system components
Star Technologies (Sterling, VA) subsidiary Powerscan (Potomac, MD) and Excalibur (Vienna, VA) will work together to jointly sell and market their products, through joint sales calls, promotional programs, conferences and seminars. Products covered in the deal are Powerscan's image capture and Stageworks image processing software, and Excalibur's Retrievalware knowledge retrieval product line. The deal combines Star, an leader in image/data acquisition, with Excalibur, a leader in high-performance knowledge retrieval. "Time and again, we find many of our customers have also selected Excalibur as part of their EDMS solutions," said Powerscan president Curtis Abel. As strategic partners, the two companies can build on their shared customer base, and "identify joint business opportunities...where both of our products add significant value."
