Knowledge extraction vendor Inxight names new leader

Xerox spin-out Inxight has named former Insignia CEO Robert P. Lee as its new president and CEO.

In his new role Lee will direct the company's core OEM business for ISVs, and oversee the development and marketing of Inxight's visualization and natural language processing technologies. Lee will also direct strategies to increase the use of Inxight products by other corporations in their internal applications. Inxight's navigational paradigm and knowledge extraction technology is currently used in products from Microsoft, Verity, AltaVista, Infoseek and Inktomi.

Lee is the former chairman, CEO, and president of Insignia Solutions, which he helped take public in 1995. Lee was also the CEO of Formulab Neuronetics, an Australian company whose logic and reasoning technology adds problem solving and analytical capabilities to existing applications like spreadsheets and databases.

"Inxight's technology can help users harness the massive content that is accessible via the Internet and corporate Intranets," according to Lee. "It is an exciting time to join the team."
