Iron Mountain plagued by fires

Records management and storage warehouser Iron Mountain (Boston) suffered a series of devastating arson fires at its warehouses in Brunswick, NJ. The company was hit by three fires in a 12 day period in mid March that destroyed over 1 million corporate records.

At one fire alone, a 100,000 square foot warehouse, holding over 800,000 records, was destroyed. Despite a modern sprinkler system, the blaze was so intense that more than 200 firefighters were called in from neighboring counties.The company stores records on all major media including paper, computer disks and tapes, microfilm and microfiche, master audio and video tapes, film and optical disks, X-rays and blueprints.
