IntaForensics’ Lima Case Management System Embeds dtSearch Engine

IntaForensics, a provider of digital forensics services and software to government and commercial clients in the UK, and dtSearch, a Maryland-based provider of text retrieval software and document filters,  have jointly announced the addition of the dtSearch Engine to the IntaForensics’ Lima Case Management System.

The Lima Forensic Case Management family of products includes the standalone Personal edition, as well as Laboratory, and Enterprise versions, which now incorporate the dtSearch platform. There is also a soon to be released full forensic Law Enforcement version.  The applications provide a complete workflow solution and end-to-end case management from collection of exhibits to final case dispatch, including exhibit tracking, logging options, a comprehensive timeline of all case-related activity and work allocation, as well as advanced features designed for supporting laboratory accreditation.

According to Andrew Frowen, CEO, IntaForensics, the company chose to integrate the dtSearch Engine in the Lima Case Management system because of its ability to quickly find keyword or combination-keyword hits across uploaded documents that are part of the Lima solution. This capability is significant, he noted, because it can enable lab managers, examiners and any interested party to perform a system search for any keyword and establish links to cases that otherwise, might go unnoticed.

The dtSearch Engine can quickly search terabytes of text, including more than 25 full-text and metadata-driven search options, and works with online and offline data, including emails and attachments, a broad range of document types, website data, and other databases.
