Mr. Conway was born in Corpus Christie, Texas, raised in Endicott, New York, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in December, 1973.  After serving 30 years in uniform, Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5) Conway retired from the Army in February, 2004, and subsequently returned to military service as a Department of the Army civilian in March, 2004.  He has held positions within the CASCOM Deputy to the Commander for Training (DCT) Training Support Directorate as Chief of the Systems Integration Division; Chief, Lifelong Learning Branch of the Applied Technology Training Division (ATTD); and is currently working for the Deputy to the Commanding General (DtCG) as the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO).  Mr. Conway's past and current DA civilian assignments have provided him with extensive experience in applying immersive simulations, interactive multimedia instruction, distributed learning, virtual teaming, social networking, and other knowledge sharing and learning processes, techniques and technologies to support a population of approximately 449,000 Army Sustainment/Logistics Soldiers and civilians around the globe.

He is passionate about recognizing change, and leveraging the knowledge economy, harvesting intellectual capital, enhancing individual/organizational learning, and stimulating creativity in order to develop talent, improve business processes, and optimize performance.  In his current position, this involves innovation, adaptability and achieving "knowledge agility" through a persistent environment of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ubiquitous learning at the individual, team and corporate level.

Mr. Conway formal civilian education is in the field of business management, e-business and marketing, augmented by a wide background of military and civilian education, to include extensive training on Army Logistics Information Management Systems; Warrant Officer Basic, Advanced and Senior Staff courses; the Logistics Executive Development Course (LEDC); and a number of other Civilian Education System (CES) courses.  He is a Certified Knowledge Management (CKM) professional, Certified Knowledge Management Professional (CKMP), and continues advanced studies in the Knowledge Management, Innovation and Change Management field.  Mr. Conway is married and supported by his wife, Song, who works at Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR), and they have two children, a daughter working in the Education field, and a son employed by DOD and serving in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
