Mr. Gillis is the Community Manager for the Marine Corps Information Technology Management (ITM) Community of Interest (COI).  In this capacity he provides functional support across the spectrum of professional development, workforce management, and strategic workforce planning capabilities for over 2,300 civilian information technology (IT) and information management (IM) professionals.  The ITM COI crosses organizational and geographic boundaries and includes members from 15 different civilian occupational series and locations from Okinawa to Germany.  His COI work focuses on improving the professionalization of the IT workforce via information sharing and administering an annual training program.  He manages multiple social media channels and sponsors a COI group on milSuite, a DoD collaboration platform.  Additionally, he acts as the C4 SharePoint Site Collection Administrator, and led the Department’s transition from SharePoint 2007 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2013

He is retired from the Marine Corps with over 22 years of enlisted and commissioned service, and was recognized in 2010 as a Federal Computer Week "Fed 100" for his work in increasing information sharing across the Community of Interest.  Connect with him on LinkedIn and Twitter (@p_gillis).
