Patricia L. Eng, P.E., is NRC’s Senior Advisor for Knowledge Management. A 29 year NRC veteran, she manages the development and deployment of initiatives to collect, capture and categorize knowledge from agency subject matter experts and make this information available when needed. She works with agency executives and staff to identify areas of highest knowledge risk, develop methods to address these areas, and makes this information available to all agency staff through the NRC Knowledge Center, a system of electronic communities of practice. NRC estimates it has saved 37 million dollars through use of the Knowledge Center and received the 2010 Merit Award for innovative initiatives that enhances efficient and effective government communications. NRC’s annual KM resource commitment is 1 FTE and 10K.
