Picture of Neesham SpitzbergNeesham Spitzberg joined the World Bank Group in 2000. While at the World Bank Group, Neesham has worked in both IBRD ('The World Bank') and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Her experience in knowledge management includes implementing enterprise-wide collaborative platforms, KM maturity assessments, community management, change management, knowledge retention, and KM strategies & frameworks.

She currently works on knowledge & learning at IFC, in the area of Investment & Credit Risk. 

She rececently completed a two year special assignment at the World Bank, working on Bank-wide knowledge management initiatives as part of President Kim's change process to make the Bank a 'Solutions Bank'. In this capacity, she's worked within Bank operational units (Sustainable Development Network, The Water Global Practice) on strengthening Bank-wide knowledge infrastructures. 

Prior to this assignement, Neesham worked in IFC's internal investment training program from 2006-2013.

From 2000-2006, Neesham worked in the World Bank’s Financial Sector Vice President's office. While there, she led the knowledge management and communications team for the Vice Presidency. Her financial sector operational & policy experience includes banking regulation, commercial bank downscaling, natural disaster risk mitigation, and access to finance. 

She holds an MS in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics and a BA in International Studies and Economics from The Ohio State University. She lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband, 5 year old daughter, and cranky dachshund.
