Picture of Paul TuckerPaul Tucker is an AI, innovation and knowledge management leader with more than 20 years of experience helping organisations turn complex information, content and customer ecosystems into scalable, commercially valuable digital capabilities. His career has spanned telecommunications, media, finance, education, energy and the public sector, where he has led major transformation programmes that connect strategy, governance, product delivery and operational execution.

He is the Founder of index AI, a business focused on knowledge management, content operations and AI-enabled customer experience. Through this work, Paul helps organisations design and govern the knowledge foundations that AI depends on, including content standards, lifecycle ownership, retrieval quality, metadata structures, structured and unstructured ingestion pipelines, and the operating models needed to support trusted AI at scale. His expertise spans LLM-enabled knowledge ecosystems, conversational AI, agentic AI, RAG, Graph RAG and multimodal AI, with a strong emphasis on compliance, answer accuracy and long-term knowledge health.

Before founding index AI, Paul spent more than eight years at Reply, where he served as Client Partner and Head of Business Unit. There, he led strategic consulting and business growth across telco, media, energy and public sector accounts, helping win and grow AI, customer experience, cloud and platform transformation programmes. He generated more than £20 million in net new business, shaped major GenAI, conversational AI and digital engagement propositions for enterprise clients including Vodafone, VMO2, SKY, BT/EE, Octopus Energy, EDF and Centrica, and built and led a global team of more than 20 specialists while delivering more than 30% year-on-year EBIT growth.

Earlier in his career, Paul held senior leadership roles across Vodafone, Virgin Media, ACCA, Oxford University, Discovery Channel, Sony and Oxford University Press. This gave him a rare combination of experience across product, go-to-market, business development, digital platforms and innovation delivery. Highlights include leading major telecoms launches, negotiating multi-million-pound strategic deals, supporting international platform rollouts, and helping secure a £350 million government grant for a quantum computing initiative at the University of Oxford.

What sets Paul apart is his ability to bridge board-level ambition with the practical realities of AI and knowledge execution. He understands that AI performance is only as strong as the knowledge, governance and content structures beneath it. As a result, his work consistently focuses not just on deploying AI, but on making it trustworthy, governed, operationally effective and commercially meaningful.
