Picture of Terry PollardTerry W. Pollard is an innovative knowledge management and education specialist whose career bridges higher education and healthcare. At Stanford Health Care, he serves as a Knowledge Management Specialist on the Informatics Education team, where he develops and maintains a knowledge base serving more than 30,000 users. His leadership has shaped enterprise-wide standards for Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) adoption, the creation of the Article Quality Index (AQI), and the integration of evidence-based content governance frameworks that enhance accessibility, findability, and organizational learning across the health system.

Before joining Stanford, Pollard served as Senior Educational Developer at Western Carolina University’s Coulter Faculty Commons, where he led workshops and initiatives focused on student success, evidence-based teaching, and inclusive pedagogy. He also guided institutional change through faculty senate service, contributing to reforms in course evaluation systems and the advancement of teaching assessment practices.

Earlier, as Director of Instructional Development and Distance Learning at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Pollard spearheaded Mississippi’s first statewide adoption of the Quality Matters™ standards and launched the university’s online Doctor of Health Administration program. His work as Director of Training and Professional Development for the Mississippi Community College Board further extended his impact through large-scale faculty certification programs in online learning and accessibility that trained over 1,600 educators statewide.

 

Throughout his career, Pollard has blended academic rigor with practical innovation, advancing knowledge systems that elevate teaching, learning, and digital fluency. His research, publications, and conference presentations continue to influence faculty developers, instructional designers, and knowledge managers seeking to build sustainable, high-impact learning ecosystems.
