Throughout her tenure at the IMF, she has held key leadership roles across multiple departments, including the Asia Pacific Department, Monetary and Capital Markets Department, and the Statistics Department. She has been instrumental in shaping policies on climate finance, strategic planning, and economic governance, while successfully leading cross-functional teams in Washington, D.C., and beyond. An advocate for innovation and strategic thinking, Elena specializes in analytical problem-solving, transformational leadership, and data-driven decision-making. Her expertise in financial policy, economic strategy, and AI-driven knowledge management positions her as a thought leader in the evolving global financial landscape.

Elena has published in the Journal of Derivatives, European Economic Review, and Public Finance and Management, as well as a number of working papers in the IMF Working Paper Series. Elena holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, England.
