KMWorld Europe Programme Chair Dawn Brushammar invites you to join us ONLINE for a packed half-day programme of KM insights and conversations this September.
Activating Human Intelligence in the Age of AI
Many organisations believe their greatest knowledge challenge is creating more content. In reality, their most valuable knowledge already exists - embedded in conversations, shared experiences, professional networks, and the everyday work of their people. The challenge is not producing more information, but unlocking the wisdom that already exists. Join us for a half-day virtual session to explore how organisations can surface, share, and apply that human wisdom to thrive in an AI-driven world. Bringing together expert speakers from Ireland, Italy, Germany, Denmark, and the UK, Bite-sized KMWorld offers a global perspective on the evolving practice of knowledge management, equipping attendees with practical ideas, proven approaches, and fresh inspiration to build more connected, resilient, and knowledge-driven organisations.
Wednesday 23 September: 14.00 - 14.45
This session explores how to transition from theoretical knowledge management to active, people-driven practice. Mairéad and Paul share how Bord Bia designed a graduate rotation program to turn knowledge into something shared through conversation and experimentation, using tools like knowledge cafés and reverse mentoring to create visible shifts in behaviour. Complementing this human-centric approach, Leonardo challenges the narrative that knowledge can be deployed as easily as software. Showcasing a client example at Acuirente Unico, he and Alessio argue that sustainable knowledge ecosystems must be built around people before they are enabled by technology, demonstrating how to align leadership and uncover tacit knowledge through collaborative discovery.
Mairéad McKeown, Knowledge & Market Intelligence Manager, Bord Bia, Ireland
Paul Fitzgerald, Client & Stakeholder Engagement, Drinks & Seafood, Bord Bia, Ireland
Alessio Borriello, Director of Strategic Development & Communications, Acquirente Unico, Italy
Leonardo d'Itri, CEO & Co-Founder, Aryanna, Italy
Wednesday 23 September: 15.00 - 15.45
As organisations lean into tech solutions, they often find that essential knowledge was never actually documented. Lukas explores why AI is exposing these gaps and argues for moving beyond documents toward living knowledge ecosystems where communities of practice enable sensemaking and adoption. Building on this, Victoria addresses the human side of AI-supported "lessons learned". She highlights that while AI can identify patterns, human facilitation and psychological safety remain essential to address uncomfortable realities and turn collected experiences into meaningful organisational learning.
Lukas Wünsch, Head of Portfolio, MHP, Germany
Victoria Köstner, Founder & Consultant, WiMaPro - Knowledge Processes in Teams, Germany
Wednesday 23 September: 16.00 - 16.45
The final session addresses the governance and structure required to make knowledge trustworthy at scale. Mante provides a candid account of building AI-ready ontologies in a complex pharmaceutical environment, focusing on who "owns" knowledge when it lives in people's heads. Alison applies these concepts to healthcare, sharing the story of "failure demand" in the NHS. She argues that traditional KM tools, such as after-action reviews and structured reflection, are practical methods for embedding these insights into learning cycles to build overall system resilience.
