Dr. Eran Barak-Medina is a lecturer and researcher at the Instructional Technologies Faculty, Holon Institute of Technology, where he studies human-AI interaction with a focus on creativity, agency, decision-making, learning, and professional practice. His work examines how AI systems can support people’s capabilities without displacing the human judgment, ownership, and development that high-value work depends on.

He has published and presented research on AI and creative agency, human-centered AI design, instructional chatbots, and AI-supported learning and performance systems. His recent work introduces the Human Creative Core, a design construct for identifying the parts of professional workflows that should be complemented rather than replaced by AI.

Beyond academia, Dr. Barak-Medina brings applied experience in organizational consulting, instructional design, change management, and AI product development, including leadership work on AI systems for managerial skill development. He previously directed AI-related R&D and policy work at Israel’s Ministry of Education and was a visiting researcher at George Washington University’s Human-Technology Collaboration Lab.

His work bridges research, design, and organizational implementation, helping leaders build AI systems that enhance performance while preserving the human capabilities that make expertise, accountability, and innovation possible.
