Floor-to-ceiling Web content management
Armstrong World Industries is using Web content management software to share marketing and product information worldwide.
A manufacturer of floors, ceilings and cabinets, Armstrong deployed Rhythmyx WCM from Percussion Software because of its multilingual and multisite support, functionality, ease of integration and content reuse, according to a press release from Percussion.
Says Jon Litofsky, manager of e-business at Armstrong World Industries, "Rhythmyx really helps us manage all of the languages and countries in our portfolio of more than 100 Web sites. If we didn't have a tool for tracking that content and allowing the marketing people in the business units to maintain it, we'd need to divert internal IT staff to the task. Using the solution allows the marketing content in any language for any country to be maintained by our marketing groups across the globe. This is an essential ingredient for showcasing our products and delivering a more compelling user experience that helps people decide to buy Armstrong."
According to Percussion, Armstrong has been using Rhythmyx globally for more than four years and has been able to greatly expand the volume and sophistication of information it provides to customers and distribution channel partners via the Web. After deploying its first round of 40 Rhythmyx-based sites, Armstrong saw its page count grown from 800 to more than 3,000.
Bryan S. Snader, senior Internet architect, says that more than 20,000 "content items" reside in the system now. "Conservatively, we've more than tripled our content volume since we first started using the system," he adds.
