SDL acquires XyEnterprise

XyEnterprise has been acquired by SDL, a well-respected provider of global information management (GIM) solutions.

SDL says that with the backing of a large public company, XyEnterprise will be able to accelerate growth, streamline product development, expand sales and marketing, and leverage tighter integrations with SDL’s GIM technologies.

The acquisition of XyEnterprise builds on the momentum created by SDL’s earlier acquisition of Trisoft in 2008. XyEnterprise brings to the SDL portfolio both XML publishing products (XPP-XML Professional Publisher and LiveContent, an intelligent interactive delivery solution), as well as a new XML standard (S1000D) with XyEnterprise’s Contenta component content management software. In addition, XyEnterprise brings mature R&D and professional services and support teams into the new SDL business unit: SDL XySoft.
