Metazoa launches User Stories for its Salesforce org management solution

Metazoa, developers of the Salesforce ecosystem’s top software toolset for org management, is introducing User Stories to Metazoa Snapshot, giving Salesforce administrators a window into org sprints, enabling them to manage metadata conflicts without the need for software developers.

“By adding User Stories to Metazoa Snapshot, we have made our leading org management solution for Salesforce administrators much more powerful,” said Metazoa CEO Jennifer Mercer. “Not only do administrators gain insights into project sprints thanks to detailed reporting and visualization tools, they also become part of the solution for metadata conflicts. These new features enhance Snapshot's org management capabilities with improved collaboration and teamwork automation.”

Metazoa has developed custom merge and compare algorithms that are specifically designed for Salesforce metadata.

This new technology circumvents the need for merging complex XML documents by hand, reduces common errors in the release management process and improves collaboration between Salesforce developers and administrators, according to the vendor. This also enables companies to streamline processes with completely native Salesforce release management.

Features of Metazoa Snapshot's new capability include:

  • Sprint Management-Product Managers can work with to do lists for simple tasks, Kanban Boards and burndown graphs for team sprints, and Gantt charts for long running projects. These visual interfaces help manage the User Stories assigned to individual contributors, giving flexibility to how each user views their data.
  • Creating User Stories-Individual contributors can update their User Stories with metadata assets and deployment tasks. Features include overlap awareness, task templates and automated pull requests. Collaborative triggers provide teamwork automation.
  • Deploying User Stories-Metadata conflicts and overlaps between selected User Stories are resolved automatically, and the differences between the source metadata and destination org are then displayed for deployment and release management.

"Our User Story technology was purpose-built to automate the task of comparing and merging Salesforce metadata,” added Bill Appleton, CTO at Metazoa. “This new technology makes User Stories much easier to manage, and less error prone than trying to compare and merge XML by hand. We have replaced manual processes with machine automation.”
